Harlequin Will Kick-Off Anglo-Welsh

Anglo-Welsh cup is going to start soon; the tournament was the part of Harlequin’s membership for 2016-17. The 16 team competition is a big tournament every rugby player and its lovers are desperately looking for it. To come and see the matches of Anglo-Welsh cup, members do not have to purchase any ticket. With the membership card hey can access entry to the ground.

In this tournament 16 teams will participate. 12 teams will be from Aviva premiership club and 4 teams will be from Welsh region. Whole tournament will be played in four pools. Each pool will have three English clubs and one welsh club.

Each team in all four pools will play four matches, two will in at home and two at different locations. The top team of each pool will go for semi-final round followed by a final round.
Harlequin is in pool 3 with wasps, Cardiff Blues and Bristol rugby. People who do not have membership and want to see the match can purchase tickets of tournament from online.

The Anglo-Welsh club tournament begun in the year 1971 and that time it was named as John Players cup. After then it was renamed as Pilkington. In the year 2005, the format of tournament changes and welsh region was introduced into it. Harlequin has won this tournament for three times from the time it has begun. They got first cup in 1988 then second one in 1991 and the third one in the year 2013. Harlequin is excited for this tournament and they are in their best form. The team is hoping to repeat the history of 2013 won again with their awesome and stunning performances.
