Harlequins Declared The Squad Name For Pre-Season

Harlequins have declared the name their squad of 26-man who is going to face Bristol Rugby on Saturday at Cleve RFC. The match will start at 14:30.


Following a pre-season camp at the headquarters of Adidas in Germany, Phil Swainston signing by summer starts in the front row next to Mark Lambert and Dave Ward (Captain) with George Merrick and Charlie Matthews playing in the second row.

The member of the Academy, Archie White is named at blindside flanker with Jack Clifford and Luke Wallace completes the back row.

Tim Swiel and Charlie Mulchrone are named at the halfbacks, along with James Lang; who is a fresh face from Singha 7s and Alofa Alofa starting in the centers.

Charlie Walker and Tim Visser, who in the last season contributed 19 tries, took the residency on either wing with Ross Chisholm at fullback, completing the 15th.

James Horwill the Club captain is named among the replacements with new signings Josh McNulty, Lewis Boyce and Ben Glynn.

Bill Harding played for Harlequins last November against the Maori All Blacks starts as a guest as replacement hooker.

Confirming the name and the position of the squad for the encounter of pre-season, John Kingston, the Director of Rugby, said “The Pre-season matches are about testing the capabilities of the players and it is about getting time of match in control. The Saturday’s match is the first opportunity to check out combinations that are fresh.
